Media Markt Launch Campaign

Agency62′s photographer David Wee has been assigned by Shanghai-based creative agency Leagas Delaney (www.leagasdelaney.cn) to shoot the launch campaign for European consumer electronics retail-giant Media Markt, which opened its first China store in Shanghai in October 2010. The shots were partly taken in our photo studios, and partly on location at Media Markt’s store on Huaihai Road. These shots became quite known through-out Shanghai due to MediaMarkt’s massive light box campaign.

Have a look at three of the campaign shots below..

Jacob Johansen, Managing Partner of Leagas Delaney Shanghai, about the camaign: “It is rather unusual for a retailer to use social taboos in a edgy context. By combining local insights with the unique international voice of Media Markt, this campaign is a smart combination of hilarious visuals and insightful headlines”. Read more about the entire campaign  and  check out some images from the actual launch night on Leagas Delaney’s blog.

Architectural shoot for Blackrock

Our main architectural photographer Marc was booked out all of November to shoot an entirely new corporate portfolio for Blackrock Investments, based around architecture patterns and structure with a sprinkle of human elements. The shoots took place on three different continents, in the cities of New York,  Shanghai,  Singapore and Sydney.  Each shooting lasted 3 to 4 days with coming and going and a few days of in between.  It truly was a long haul.
The client in the end was very happy.  When shooting architectural work, you always hope for good weather and we were very lucky in 3 out of 4 cities.  It really made the shoots go so much easier.  We had quite a crew even just to walk around the city and shoot  simple locations in natural light: 3 representatives of the client, the agent, a few models, 2x for hair make up and driver and local producer and me could only fit in two vans.

David for SENZ

David Wee was just booked by Shanghai-based creative agency King Harvests to shoot for their new client SENZ, a leading Belgian chocolate brand which just entered the Chinese chocolate market in grand fashion. Under King Harvest’s creative direction and David’s photographic lead, a series of beautiful and moody on-location shots were created.

The shoot included an intensive 4 day product shooting at our photo studios in Shanghai, and one day on-location at the beautiful Downstair’s restaurant at the URBN boutique hotel (thanks, Lois!!) on JiaoZhouLu, and the stunning Gaggenau kitchen showroom at the Plaza66. Check out the beautiful SENZ website, all images were created and retouched by us.

We thank the entire Grandsun team for this great cooperation. Below the 4x final KVs and some behind the scene shots!
